Introducing Private Transcriber Pro

Recently, Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) models have become really good. The best models basically perform transcription tasks at a super-human level. This is really useful for many applications, for example you could make videos and audio files searchable by text by transcribing them and appending that information as meta data. You can also use it to practice other languages, etc.

Currently, most people use some kind of online software to do their transcriptions. This has certain limitations such as privacy, ongoing fees, and others. Some people have the skills to run it on their own machines, which usually requires an expensive GPU and specific knowledge to run it.

Today, I am releasing Private Transcriber Pro. A tool that allows anyone to simply drag and drop any video or audio file into the application and obtain the transcription of it in a few seconds or minutes, only using the CPU (No GPU required), and completely offline (no Internet access required).

You can then save the transcription as a subtitle file (.srt) and watch the original video with them, or save it as a text file (.txt) for other use cases.

The application can also transcribe speech in other languages, and offers the ability to either keep the text as the original language, or directly translate it into English.

You can also search and make quick edits before saving the transcription.
